Let me tell you a quick story about the time I decided to walk away from my 12-year career as a high school science teacher.
I have always known my WHY- my big reason for doing everything I do...it is to lead people to challenge the status quo and to empower individuals to live inspired lives.
I thought could influence and impact the lives of young people on a daily basis as a teacher.
Yes- I was able to help people- but it was at such a small scale- maybe 100 people per year.
I knew I had to do things differently in order to have the impact that I knew was possible. So, I decided to leave my career- after spending years and thousands earning degrees- and create something that would allow me to fulfill my purpose.
I had to figure out where to start and what steps to take to build a business for myself. The only thing I knew is that I wanted it to be online.
I had no experience in building funnels, automated systems, or internet marketing in general.
My network of colleagues were all teachers and stay at home moms.
As I was teaching myself what to do and how to do it, I had daily episodes of overwhelming doubt, fear, and uncertainty. Many times I thought that I should just go back to work- as in get a JOB.
In 2015, Russell Brunson hosted the very first Funnel Hacking Live event in Las Vegas. I had never been to Las Vegas, I had never been to a live event, and I didn’t know anyone that was going to be there.
But- I bought a single ticket, flew to Vegas alone, and changed my life forever.
It was there that I began to network with some of the most influential people in online marketing.
I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone and joined the first ever certification program for ClickFunnels (which led me to all kinds of learning opportunities and new connections).
It was there that I also realized just how important surrounding yourself with like-minded, empowered individuals is to personal and professional growth and development.
I spent a full week in person training with Russell Brunson and other amazing influential experts.
There is true power in your network. Jim Rohn says, “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
I believe that when you improve your network, you ultimately will increase your net worth.
When I shifted my network of friends and colleagues, I gained the confidence and community to continue my journey of learning, connecting, and eventually building my own successful online business.
Because of this experience, among others, I am now able to continue serving people at the highest capacity possible, which creates an exponential effect of impact and purpose.
